The end of the successful Vassa and our stay in Śliwa is coming – time to pack our tents. We would like to express our gratitude: Anumodana to everyone who supported us by either helping us here on site or sending us their kindness and support from afar. Thanks to our collective effort and generosity of many of you, by living in harmony with intention to observe the precepts, we were able to meet together once again – to spend time apart.

These kinds of challenges provide an opportunity to transcend boundaries and to grow. If we start to become accustomed to the idea that the boundaries of the world “known” to us are drawn according to often unquestioned assumptions and daily choices based on them (which, in turn, reinforce them), this opportunity might start to present itself as a necessity. It is a degree of our dedication to developing and maintaining the clarity of intentions that will determine our well-being and progress. How much time it will take and at what pace we will be walking is less important than the internal persistence and honesty of our commitment. We shall nurture it, despite the discomfort that comes with admitting our weaknesses to ourselves. Making excuses will be a sign of losing the intention of caring for clarity and would be a greater fault than simply giving in itself. That’s how we develop – sīla and strength.

With that in mind, take care of yourselves and see you next time.

Ps. Our next destination will be Zielone, near Rawa Mazowiecka. Patryk is leaving in mid-November for Samanadipa to experience life in a larger Sangha and will return to us at Spring. Together with Kamil, who has offered to accompany me after Patryk’s departure to Slovenia, I will stay in Zielone at least until the end of the year.
